Bulbasaur

Bulbasaur, known as Fushigidane (フシギダネ, literally "mysterious seed" and is a possible pun on fushigi da ne (不思議だね), or "Strange, isn't it?") in Japan, is a Grass/Poison type Pokémon from the Pokémon video games. It resembles a small, blue reptile with a green bulb on its back. It's notable for being one of the three starter Pokemon in Red, Blue, FireRed, and LeafGreen, the others being Fire-type Charmander and water-type Squirtle. Bulbasaur is usually male. Bulbasaur evolves into Ivysaur, who then evolves into Venusaur.
In the first few seasons of the anime, Ash Ketchum has a Bulbasaur.
