Acclaimed but eccentric music star, '''Prince''' became a 1980s icon with his purple garb (earning him the nickname '''Purple One''') and hit songs such as "Purple Rain" and "1999". Later changed his name to an incomprehensible squiggle (though eventually reverted back to "Prince").
