Cyndaquil is a fire-type Pokemon from the ''Pokemon'' video game series that is dark blue with a light yellow underside, closed eyes, and fire that resembles spikes on its backside, but the fire is only shown occasionaly. It is most notable as one of the three starter Pokemon in ''Gold'', ''Silver'', and ''Crystal'', along with the grass-type Chikorita and the water-type Totodile. A special Cyndaquil that knows the attack ''Blast Burn'', a powerful fire-type attack, can be obtained in ''XD''. Cyndaquil is male most of the time, and evolves into Quilava, who then evolves into Typhlosion.
