She is the captain of the lacrosse team at Verone Junior High for Girls and is an all-around tomboy. One day, she makes a wish for a boyfriend on what she thinks is a shooting star, but then the &quot;star&quot; flies into her room and bursts into what appears to be a cell phone and a pack of cards. The cell phone is actually a device called a &quot;Card Commune&quot; which houses the spirit [[Mepple]] and can be used for transformations and attacks.<br /> When near [[Honoka Yukishiro]] (Hannah Whitehouse), she can swipe the Queen card through the Card Commune and with the words &quot;Pretty Cure Dual Aurora Wave!&quot; (same in both versions) shouted in unison, Nagisa/Natalie becomes &#039;&#039;&#039;Cure Black&#039;&#039;&#039;.
