Mail-order catalogue and comic-book ad staple, the Sea Monkeys were firts introduced to the world in 1957. Brine shrimp in reality, the Sea Monkeys are notorious for being somewhat dull and dying very easily. Oddly enough, it is the endearing artwork of the packaging and ads for Sea Monkeys, featuring web-toed fish folk frolicking in underwater playgrounds, that have become pop-culture staples.
