GIR is a character from the cult-classic TV show "Invader Zim". GIR is a demented, scratch-built Standard Information Retrieval Unit (or SIR Unit) who serves Zim rather incompetently, since he has neither the brains nor the attention span of a goldfish. For those curious, not even GIR knows what the "G" stands for. Of course, GIR couldn't care less; he's usually too busy watching TV, dancing like an idiot, or doing or saying something that's just as endearingly stupid and insane.
