Wario is an evil ripoff of Mario, with the M turned upside down (well, actually, it's a pormanteau of "Mario" and warui, a Japanese word meaning "bad" or "evil"). After failing to collect the six golden coins, and appearing in several other games in an incessant search for treasure, he started developing 3 second microgames along with his friends.
Unofficially, his brother is Waluigi.
