George Burns was a comedian, first noted as half of the Burns and Allen comedy duo with wife Gracie Allen, and later on by his solo career following Allen's death. Recognizable by his frequent cigar usage and, in his later years, his thick-rimmed glasses. He notably starred as God in the Oh, God! film series, Mr. Kite in the Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band movie, and won an Oscar for his role in The Sunshine Boys. He died shortly after turning 100.
