Pikmin are multicolored plant-animal hybrids, originating from the video game series of the same name. They come in a variety of colors, which signify their abilities and resistance to environmental hazards.
In the first Pikmin game, there are three types: Red Pikmin, Yellow Pikmin, and Blue Pikmin.
In Pikmin 2, three new types are introduced: Purple Pikmin, White Pikmin, and Bulbmin, essentially a Pikmin that resembles a Bulborb.
In Pikmin 3, two more new types are introduced: Rock Pikmin, and Winged Pikmin, the smallest species so far.
