The Moon is Earth's only known natural satellite. Many astronauts, including Neil Armstrong have walked on its surface. Contrary to popular belief, it isn't made of cheese, nor did it ever have atmosphere.
While not as reoccurring as its celestial counterpart The Sun, The Moon is a recurring motif in animutation. Some animutations use a Colin Mochrie moon, a possible reference/inversion of the traditional Colin Mochrie sun. Most of the Sun's other appearances in animutations tend to be a real images, generic cartoony moons, crescent moons or the moon as it appeared in George Melies' 1902 film A Trip to the Moon.
