Purple Tentacle is a character from the games Maniac Mansion and Day of the Tentacle. As the name suggest, he's an ambulatory, disembodied purple tentacle. In Maniac Mansion, he was Dr. Fred's henchman, who tried to block your progress through the mansion but was easily bypassed.
