The dancing banana is a sprite of a happy, dancing banana with arms and legs, which started out as an emoticon on various message boards. It wasn't too well recognized back then, but it soon became well known on the internet thanks to a flash called Peanut Butter Jelly Time. It showed it dancing to a song by the Buckwheat Boys. Due to it's internet popularity, it only makes sense it appears in animutations.
