Michael Jackson (August 29, 1958-June 25, 2009), the "King of Pop", was a pop star ever since the late 1960's, with his start in the Jackson 5.
He later went solo and reached the height of his popularity in the 1980s. In later years, his behavior got even more erratic, such as buying the publishing rights to Lennon-McCartney, marrying Elvis Presley's daughter, plastic surgery, bleaching his skin, false child molestation accusations, building an amusement park at his Neverland estate, and lawsuits. For the latter reasons, he was often made fun of.
In June 2009, as he was preparing for a series of comeback concerts, Jackson died of a drug overdose. The world was left shocked, as over 2.5 billion people watched his memorial service on TV.
