Bowser is Mario's evil archnemesis from the Super Mario Bros. series of games. A colossal, fire-breathing turtle beast, he commands the army of Koopas that routinely invade the Mushroom Kingdom. In an eternal cycle, Bowser kidnaps Peach, and Mario rescues her. He sometimes teams up with Mario if an even greater evil looms: for instance, they teamed up to stop the advances of Smithy in Super Mario RPG. Recent evidence suggests he may be John McCain's lover.
