Colonel Sanders was an American businessman, best known as the founder of the Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant. Rather than creating a fictional character for KFC's mascot, the usual course for fast food corporations, Sanders used his own white-clad southern gentleman image for the public face of KFC.
