Gengar is a ghost/poison type Pokémon from the Pokemon card game and video games, which is a ghost, hence the type. It can be obtained in every handheld Pokemon game except Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald. The only way to get a Gengar is by trading a Haunter, its unevolved form, to another game. Gengar is notable for being the only fully-evolved ghost type in the Kanto generation.
