Known as Joey Wheeler to western audiences, Jounouchi, as he is called by the other characters, is Yugi Mutou's best friend. His parents divorced when he and his sister, Shizuka Kawai, were very young. His favorite Duel Monster is the Red Eyes Black Dragon.
