Heavily inspired by (some would say ripped off from) Ralph Kramden from "The Honeymooners", in that he's a loud-mouthed but loveable lug whose crazy schemes sometimes get him in over his head. There's far fewer threats of domestic violence between Fred and Wilma, though.
