Stephen Hawking was a quadraplegic astrophysicist regarded as among the smartest people alive. Since he has to use a speech synthesizer, his voice sounds robotic. He wrote various complex books, the most famous one being A Brief History of Time.
Hawking died on March 14, 2018.
