Ranma Saotome is the main character in the series Ranma ½, in which the title martial artist is cursed to turn into a female version of himself when splashed with cold water. Hot water reverses this effect, but cold water still triggers the curse. In the case of the fanimutation Shumway, Ranma appears in his female form.
