Hanzo Hattori was a ninja in 16th century Japan, the best of his time. He had a son, and he gave him his name. Generation after generation, there was always a Hanzo Hattori fully trained in martial arts. The 100th Hanzo Hattori appears in the movie Kill Bill, where he is seen after he swore a blood-oath to never make another masterwork katana.
