Kim Jong Il is the current dictator of the Communist state known as North Korea. He inherited the position from his father, Kim Il Sung, whose party seized power during the Korean War. Kim has long been the butt of jokes in the West and elsewhere due to his small stature, monkey-ish face, ridiculous hair, and large glasses. He was the main villain in the puppet movie Team America: World Police. More recently, he has attracted much media attention due to his unveiling of North Korea's Taepodong-2 ICBM, a missile believed to have the range to reach the U.S., and his subsequent threat to launch it if the U.N. bothers him.
