Audio Details
- Portions of the song samples the Beatles' "I Am The Walrus".
- In fact those portions ARE part of the Pokerap.
- The lyrics provide evidence that Nintendo intended to release Pokémon in the U.S. as "Pocket Monsters" - it was a trademark dispute that resulted in the Japanese name being used in the US.
Trivia
- This song has the Japanese names of all the original 151 Pokemon, except for Mew (Myuu). Note that the Japanese word for "151" is "hyaku go-jū-ichi."
- The blinking message "Hikeeba" is a reference to the Mystery Science Theater 3000 episode "Women of the Prehistoric Planet".
- The sprite of Mario walking is the only animated GIF in the entire flash.
