Meowth
Meowth is a normal-type Pokémon in the Pokémon series of video games. It can be obtained in Blue, Silver, Crystal, Firered, Leafgreen, Emerald, and XD. It is widespread in all but the last two, where you can trade a Skitty for a Meowth in Emerald and snag a Meowth from Cipher Peon Fostin in XD. Meowth looks like a light-yellow squirrel.
Meowth adores shiny and circular things, especially coins. It seems to be nocturnal, so during the night, when it is awake, it searches the streets for lost change. If it spots something shiny, the gold coin on its head also shines.
Meowth has a notable role in the anime. Specifically, a Meowth is part of Team Rocket, Pokémon's villian team, along with Jessie and James. The Meowth is a special one, as he can talk. Specifically, he learned how to talk while trying to win the love of a female Meowth. (Rocket was the first word he learned to say, thus the connection to the team of the same name.)
Meowth only made two appearances in animutations, being in Hyakugojyuuichi 3!!! and Perot Music Hour. In both of them, it was specifically the Meowth that was part of Team Rocket. "Nyaasu no Party," the song from Nya Nya Nya, was sung by Meowth's voice actress, Inuko Inuyama. (Ironically, "inu" is the Japanese word for "dog.") Ms. Inuyama can also be heard as Meowth in the song from Team Rocket's Journey Through Time and Space.
